Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Change management is a critical aspect of organizational growth and development. It involves preparing, supporting, and helping individuals, teams, and organizations navigate through changes in processes, technologies, or organizational structure. In Dikwa Local Government Area, Borno State, organizations face unique challenges in implementing change due to factors such as limited resources, resistance to change, and communication barriers. Corporate communication plays a pivotal role in facilitating effective change management by ensuring that all stakeholders are informed, involved, and motivated throughout the process. This study examines how corporate communication strategies can support change management efforts in Dikwa, focusing on how communication can reduce resistance to change, enhance employee buy-in, and ensure smooth transitions during organizational changes.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Despite the importance of effective change management in organizational success, many organizations in Dikwa Local Government Area struggle with poor communication during times of change. This has led to confusion, resistance, and inefficiencies, hindering the successful implementation of change initiatives. The study seeks to investigate how corporate communication can be used to support change management, improve communication processes, and ensure that organizational changes are successfully adopted by employees and stakeholders.
